13.4 – Clean & Jerk and Toes to Bar….my predictions!
First thought that comes to mind is the impending forewarm pump. I would be looking to stretch out/foam roller/barbell roll your forearm/wrist/finger flexors.
Next on the list would be making sure your thoracic region is nice and mobile for the overhead component of the jerk and the toes to bar. Thoracic mobility influences your ability to achieve full shoulder flexion so if you are lacking there your overhead position will suffer.
Lastly, I would do some work to really open up the hip flexors – trigger point and couch/samson stretch.
I would consider taping your hands or wearing grips (if allowed) to save your hands. You don’t want to rip halfway through this one. It’s going to be fast and furious!
